What We Believe

We believe that it is right for parents/guardians to know what their children are being taught, which is why we purpose to communicate our beliefs so that you can decide as a parent/guardian if this is a right fit for your child(ren). While some of these beliefs will not be explained to younger children, it is important to us that you know what we believe in case certain topics are brought up. It is also important to note that we believe in loving others, even if we do not always agree with them. We are not trying to force our opinions on you, yet we feel it is right for you to know some of the things we believe and teach students in this co-op (when it is age-appropriate).

• God created the earth (Genesis 1:1).
• God created us in His image (Genesis 1:26-27).
• God created male and female (Genesis 1:27).
• God created each of us as a male or female on purpose, for a purpose (Genesis
1:27, Psalm 139:14, & Jeremiah 29:11).
• God has set up marriage to be a union between a man and woman (Genesis
2:24).
• God wants to bless us (Numbers 6:24; Galatians 3:13-14).
• God sends His angels to protect us (Psalm 91:11).
• God created us in the womb; we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm
139:13-14).
• God has a great plan for each of our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).
• God is our Heavenly Father and wants to give us good things (Matthew 7:11).
• We should be water baptized after we receive Jesus into our hearts (Mark 16:16
& Acts 2:38).
• When we submit to God and use the name of Jesus, we have authority over the
devil (Mark 16:17 & James 4:7).
• God wants us to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to pray in tongues (Mark 16:17,
Acts 2:4, & Ephesians 5:18).
• God loves us so much that He sent Jesus, and whoever believes in Jesus will
have eternal life (John 3:16).
• The devil wants to steal, kill, and destroy; but Jesus came to give us an abundant
life (John 10:10).
• God wants to be our friend (John 15:13).
• The Holy Spirit was sent to be our Helper (John 16:7).
• Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins, and God raised Him back to life
three days later (Acts 13:28-30, 38).
• Those who believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord will be saved (Romans
10:9).
• All good things come from God (James 1:17).
• By the stripes of Jesus, we were healed (1 Peter 2:24).
• God wants us to live a prosperous life and have healthy bodies just like He wants
our soul to prosper (2 Corinthians 8:9 & 3 John 1:2).

I have read and understand the beliefs stated above, and I realize that in signing my child(ren) up for this co-op, teachers may tell them about the beliefs stated above, when it is age-appropriate. I also recognize that, as the parent/guardian, I have the right to remove my child from the co-op any time I see fit.

I hereby release and hold harmless High Point Church and staff and all High Point Homeschool Co-op teachers and volunteers for and against all claims, lawsuits, losses from any liability or responsibility for injuries or ailment received during or as a result of participating in the HPC Co-op activities, including but not limited to the bounce house, games involving physical activity, and P.E. activities. To the best of my knowledge, my child(ren) are in good physical health. I take full responsibility for any injury that may occur. I have read and understand the above statements concerning this waiver release form.
